Societies succeed and succeed until eventually they don't.

Don't you think societies like the Byzantine Eastern Romans disprove the rule or high the trend? That civilization went through several cycles of expansion and neat collapse. It seemed they lived and sort of breathed in and out with the environment and them.

Is that common or is Byzantium an outlier.

I'm an engineer and I hate open seating. What jobs and activities are BEST for open seating? I'm willing to admit I just haven't seen it used in the proper context but I'd love to learn something new.

You can end the vast majority of this power grab by limiting judges to a ten year term (or twenty or whatever). Having a lifetime post isn't helping the public and a "very long post" would completely suffice.
