Fellow PGR member here, even though I haven't been able to go on a mission yet due to distance or work schedule. I have an uncle that is a Vietnam vet, a cousin who is ex military due to medical, and another who just finished basic.

I have actually had the honor to witness the beginning of a few missions when I was working at an airport during the Iraq war, and the level of respect the PGR had for the family is what inspired me to join. To all the military, first responders, and PGR, thank you.

Worked for National Car Rental for 8 years. Tried for an asst. management slot pre Enterprise buyout, they wanted me to get a little more experienced in more areas of the business, and started helping me to get that experience. Enterprise buys the company, I try for an open asst management spot again. City manager is blown away by my performance in the interview, including knowledge of volume of business, flow of cars, inventory handling...yet the position was given to an asst manager that was laid off in a different state. Because he was an Enterprise employee. This was told to me as the reason he was given the position, not that he was better qualified, not that he knew the business in the area, but because he was previously employed by Enterprise. That was my cue to find different employment.

Exactly, this was just the final sign it was time to look elsewhere. Within a couple of months I had found a job making $3 an hour more.

Except if you happened to work for one of the brands that was acquired by them, then you were stuck in a dead end position with no opportunity for advancement and treated as a second class citizen. Even if you had demonstrated the skills and knowledge to be better in a role than one of their precious MIT employees.
