In your opinion, what roles do Pakistan's main political parties play in the current situation? I've always gotten an impression of hopeless corruption and endless patronage networks stemming from the main parties (Althought I'm not familiar with them specifically). Can you explain any specific differences? (I understand if you can't answer this).

Most importantly, what steps do you think Pakistan could take to improve its political situation?

I understand the Taliban and Taliban-alligned groups get much of their support from the more traditional rural people. Does the Taliban garner any genuine support in the cities? If so, amongst what demographics?

How is the local political situation? Are there genuine political differences between the parties and politicians, or does it boil down to tribal affiliations and patronage networks? Any glimmers of Hope in the Afghan political process?
