Nice, and not just, I think but can’t really be sure, because it mostly accords with my views! If this were more widespread, your BHAG would be met soon. To be fair, much of the problem is sot so much journalists as the model they work under now, and required to churn out so much content great journalists are forced to peddle often mediocre outputs, with obvious questions and fruitful avenues unasked/ unexplored, and so value and trust diminishes. Much like science these days, actually, with citations and paper counts, output/activity metrics masquerading as outcomes/impact, often driving content creation rather than making a real impact. Of course, in both fields much great stuff too, but sometimes despite systems seemingly hardly better designed to quell what they claim! Thanks for thoughtful reply, and very best wishes indeed for the new venture.

Good concept (stories not covered) and epic BHAG (bring trust back into journalism). While essential to bring great journalism skills to the new gig, what attributes, habits, ways of thinking, etc, if any, do you think you might need to rethink, ditch, mitigate, or monitor in yourself as you migrate from the (say, “media hive” thinking?) to solo thinking?
