In a rather singular twist, these are still widespread in fairs in germany (gun-control-countray, remember?) They don't pack much of a punch and you're lucky if they shoot halways straight, but i always admired the courage of the shopkeepers, handing out loaded pellet guns to inebriated customers, just to have them directed in their general direction without flinching... shudder Edit: https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/e/e1/Schiessbude2.jpg for example... and they will run around in direct line of fire.

Not OP, but I asked my flatmate who works for a refugee organisation in Germany. She said that she cannot share personal information about refugees, neither are the locations of camps publicly disclosed.

No problem :) So, I asked again and the answer was a bit more extensive than I bargained for (Never ask someone with a law degree for a short answer).

Basically, it boils down to personal rights, which are quite extensive ; you can neither film not take photographs of asylum seekers nor their shelters without their consent. Publication of personal histories requires consent as well. Professionals (Nurses, doctors, psychologists...) working with refugees are bound to their professional standards of non-disclosure. Volunteers are urged to not disclose personal histories of refugees to others, for psychological reasons (imagine confiding into a person and having your life's story spread around the other volunteers. Big nope.)

Abstract information (the health of the refugees / the conditions they live in are good / bad / mediocre, the camps require more XYZ...) are not subject to NDAs nor do they violate privacy laws

Hope we could help :)
