Hey Brandon! I'm gutted I will miss the show in my home town tonight :(. Hope you guys have a good time! Would love to see the band at Mercury Ballroom here in the ville sometime.
My question is how do you start the songwriting process? Do you lay down music then words or vice versa, does the band come together as a group, drums first etc?

I remember it vividly, at least upon announcement as well as later that evening.
I was 8, dad was taking me to second grade. We were a little bit late that day but there were still buses letting kids out at the school. Right at one corner of the school, we heard the report. We were listening to The Bob and Tom Show (morning comedy show). Out of nowhere they stopped and Tom says "We just received a report that a plane has hit the World Trade Center." I didn't have the slightest clue what these buildings were. This was the first tower to get hit. I honestly thought it was some kind of messed up joke. Continue on, get out of the truck and into class. Around 10:30 the teacher and teacher's aide come in and shut off the lights (signal to be quiet), and announce that the World Trade Center buildings in NYC have collapsed. Then they both prayed and lots of the kids prayed. Then after that I don't remember much.
Next thing I remember is that I was in the car with mom, she worked at the school and I was taking me and my sister home from daycare. We stopped to get gas, and the line was long, I wanna say at least 5 cars long for each of the 2 pumps (small-ish town). Gas prices had skyrocketed and mom was not happy, which is funny when you look at prices today compared to 11 years and 1 day ago. Anywho, we got back to my house and my buddy that lives on the street came up. I vividly remember walking around my house so mom couldn't hear us through the front door, and wanting to go and "Kill those fuckers that made this happen. It's bullshit. I hope they die." We both decided then and there that we wanted to join the Army and go kill them (never panned out).
Those are my memories of 9/11. And like some others, I wish I would've been able to see it. As morbid as it may sound, the impact and history it caused is something we may never see again. Even if I could've watched it unfold on TV. I saw the video of the second collapse 2 years ago, and it was mind blowing to me.
