What do you remember about appearing in season 2 of the Trailer Park Boys? Were you aware of the plot (I.e.: drugs and everyone's a terrible human being) or did they shield you from it?

reddit is no place for that.

I'd never heard that he thought it was a reward, that makes it so much more hilarious.

Except OP actually operates there, and isn't competing in Ontario but then avoiding taxes by being based in Alberta. It's not cheating to go somewhere the rules are different. It's cheating to move your headquarters or use shell companies to send all your profits somewhere else.

If OP did all his work in California and based his company in Panama it'd be the same problem.

IANAL but it's pretty likely a lawyer paid by your employer would not take a case against them. It's a conflict of interest accusation waiting to happen. They might be able to refer you to another lawyer, but again, possible conflict if interest.

My employer pays for a personal assistance hotline. You can call them for all kinds of stuff, everything from mental health to substance abuse to tips on saving money on groceries. But one thing that's very clear in the terms and conditions is they cannot give you advice on work conflicts or confrontations, because that puts them in a situation where helping you is in conflict with the people who hired them.
