I work in biometrics (not Android). While I do think you fingerprints are very secure on this device, I am puzzled by what you think will happen if they were to leak from the device? What are you concerned about. I assume you know you are leaving your fingerprints everywhere now as you go about your day.

I recently found a large-ish knife in my backpack that I have traveled with at least 30 times. I had forgotten it was there. I don't want to get into details about this, but I think it was camouflaged by another item in my backpack that masked its "knifeness" After this many trips, I am pretty convinced it is undetectable.

Given that I stumbled upon this by accident, surely other determined people could have easily come to the same conclusion. Given that, is there any real value in screening for these items? Do you only end up catching really stupid people (any innocent people)?

There is a great psych experiment about this. They sold fine chocolate for 15 cents or a Hershey Kiss for a penny. 80% of the people bought the nicer chocolate. Then they made the kiss for free and the fine chocolate for 14 cents. Same difference, but 80% switched to the free chocolate.

Cell phones allowed developing countries to skip landlines entirely. The infrastructure required for a cell phone network is just a small number of towers, compared to running thousands of miles of cables.
