My younger brother was in an accident about 12 years ago that left him with scarring on his retinae and low vision. It's something that's caused a lot of sadness in my family and depression in my brother. The saddest thing I've ever seen in my life was watching him sort his own socks when I was home over the holidays. He has to hold them so close to his face to make out the differences.
