Einstein, in a letter refuting various claims that he was a religious man, wrote "It was, of course, a lie what you read about my religious convictions... I do not believe in a personal God and I have never denied this but have expressed it clearly. If something is in me which can be called religious then it is the unbounded admiration for the structure of the world so far as our science can reveal it."
Einstein's god was a god of the the unknown becoming known. His god was in the realization that time travels slower in earth's orbit as compared to ground level. That the universe had a speed limit that everything obeys. That the fundamental elements of reality are sensitive to the very act of being measured.
Allow yourself the possibility that what you are missing isn't a being greater than yourself, but rather a greater understanding of the reality that you inhabit.
