Yeah, I was told I had a branchial cleft cyst on my neck. Nope. Three months later I was getting a sore tonsil checked out, they did a CT, and that's when I learned it was cancer. Fortunately it was HPV-related, I'm two years out and doing fine. But still, such a dumb initial diagnosis. Penn would've known just looking at my neck what was going on.

And that doctor who misdiagnosed me also said all radical tonsillectomies were the same. No, dickhead, Penn uses robotics and they achieve clean margins in the mouth and throat. Your scalpel can't do that.

TL;DR – go to Penn if it's an option.

Hooray! A cancer-themed AMA who isn't a fake!

[as you're a redditor who has been here for over a year, you should understand where I'm coming from]

I have nothing to ask you. Just really glad you're doing well, and wish you a cancer-free rest of life.

Yeah, Cream of Wheat and eggs were pretty much the only foods that worked for me during the dark days of "everything tastes like poison." Here I thought I was going to lose my sense of taste, which I could've dealt with for two-three months. I had no idea how disgusting most food would be. Fortunately post-treatment taste came back fine.
