physical standards

I'd amend this to that anyone who can meet the standards. Period.

As an army officer (not US), with combat experience for those who care about these things, I am a firm proponent of diversity in the armed forces. Diversity is a strength, not (potential) threat.

Diversity is not just about equality. It's also about having a different take on things. Competing perspectives are of incredible value to a commander as long as people are open to exploring different angles of approach.

It's a lot about your preferences. The board game industry has skyrocketed. How long should a game last? Do you have a preference for a setting? What sort of mechanics do you prefer? How many players? Competative or coop?

Recently I've enjoyed Treasure Island and Dixit a lot. I also enjoy the complicated big strategy games. Dice building games like Quarrior are fun too. Mech vs. Minions is fantastic too. Salem, from this developer, is a great party game for people who enjoy some occasional geekiness.

I was allowed to pursue my transition through all of it.

This breaks my heart. It really bothers me anyone should have permission to be who they want to be. If it doesn't impede your service it shouldn't matter.

Are you noticing changes in attitudes and opinions? Where are your biggest challenges; with your peers, subordinates or higher-ups?

From you active duty service member (non-US) to another: stay strong.

What sort of size battles are we looking at? A few capital ships + loads of smaller craft that get micro-managed or handfuls of capitals and squadron-like units of fighters?

Interesting. As a BSG fan (both the old and the new series) I will follow you guys for sure.
