Don't you think after working there 6 years, the experience and skill you have accrued, the company ought to value you a bit higher than the new guy on his first shift?

Re: switching, you may as well finish your biomedical/chem degree, it's not like mechanical where a few courses will turn you into an aero, you're in a fundamentally different field. But the engineering dept at your school would be able to tell you better than anyone on here.
