I've been in IT for the last four years now. I got the job pretty much right out of school. I really enjoyed the whole engineering aspect of networking and really wanted to find a job in that regard. I quickly learned that most available IT jobs are all help desk and it's just hopping around from one managed services firm to another and I'm just getting sick of it. What did you mainly deal with in IT and what do you think of the huge managed services swing? Do you have any opinions on it? Was there any "final straw" that made you quit or was it just a gradual process?
