Dude! WTF? 76 comments in 2 hours?

Wow, people who remember the old VT100 days must have up and died this week.

What do you think of the possibility of white space mesh communications networks? Thus far, it seems pretty cool. But considering that people haven't made much progress with conventional wifi or RF systems, I dunno.

lol! Well, I have parkinson's, but I never got a dime for that. :D

For some reason people just don't give a shit about some cranky 40 something guy considered to be "young onset" who's all slow, shaky, generally disagreeable, and way too dependent on caffeine and dopamine to get by. ;)

Other than that, family doesn't seem to care. Hey, sure you can freeze up like a living statue, doesn't mean you'll die for a long time. Yeah, unless you freeze up in the middle of a crosswalk, or hell, in the middle of the aisle in the grocery store. Those people are f'ing insane!

Figure that's what'll do me in, some retail moron will drop a display on me, and I won't be fast enough to dodge it. lol!

I thought it was interesting that the Olympic Park Bomber, got his start as an abortion clinic bomber, and killing gays.

Ultimately, the Olympic Park bombings just proved he was a psychopath who enjoyed killing people, the "ideology" was just a means to an end, and the fundies probably bankrolled his gruesome hobby as well.

Flash forward many years, a so called "Abortion Activist" was revealed to be just someone that was an IRL troll. The town he protested in didn't have any abortion clinics, they were lucky to even have a Wal-Mart. It was the sort of place where the biggest coke dealer in town operated a bar, and owned a judge to keep the competition out. (Think Dukes of Hazard, if you're not hip to the new scene).

What they DID have, was an under-medicated mental patient who sought to right what he saw as what was wrong in the world. Whoops! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Murder_of_Jim_Pouillon

So, I suppose lots of people in the Anti-Abortion debate just get into it to raise hell and be crazy rather than any profound belief in a cause.

Certainly cheaper than buying bulletproof vests for homeless woodcarvers. Whoops! Bad Seattle in joke. I'm terrible. :D

Anyway, just an idea if you want to diversify your project a little. Besides sleeping bags, it helps to have something to keep stuff dry, and to keep heat in.

Fast and dirty way to do this is something called a "tarp tent" and then you have space blankets. Good size tarp, say 6x9 is about $3-4 in bulk, space blankets are around 80 cents per in bulk, and you need some paracord to tie off the tarp tent to supports, that's about 20 cents a foot, down to 8 cents if you get 500 foot spools.

Various other things like boric acid to keep shoes and blankets mold/bug/fungus free, and sage, mainly for shoes/socks, to kill bacteria.

And on occasion, you can find something that's both shelter, tarp, and clothing. A thing called a german shelter half. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shelter-half Sometimes you can get em for about $4-5 per. Retail, they'll sell em to prepper nerds for $85 per.
