My partner is a similar 9/11 first responder and vet (but not wartime). You guys sound the same: amazingly resilient w unashamed love for others. Hang in there, brother.

oh yeah. he was a fireman in Long Island and you guys still are survivors in a way that normal people don't get. he is pretty ill and i appreciate your thoughts. keep on appreciating all the great things in your life. : )

Yes, this! My partner and I did it, but it only works if you have a good elected official. Example: Chuck Schumer did nothing so we went to Senator Gillibrand who is amazing. Keep trying. They also have reps within the system that can advocate for you. Don't give up. You survived a damned claymore. This can NOT be even close to the biggest challenge you have faced! Keep trying, please. Try the DAV or VVA. They are amazing. You also will feel less alone.
