What is the relationship like between the SAA and YPG?

I read recently about the YPG defending a city in tandem but w/o cooperation w the SAA. YPG was garrisoned while the Daesh was inflicting damage on the SAA positions. I found it interesting that SAA was so toxic that a pragmatic unacknowledged temp alliance didn't come into play. Thanks for your reply and for following your conscience.
