3D printers are going to revolutionize manufacturing industry. If you can get open sourced blue prints, why buy an original?

I guess my question is, how much is Congress looking to advance these technologies, with the understanding that millions of jobs are in danger, simply because Ctrl-C Ctrl-V is so simple, cheap, and effortless?

How can we overcome decades of wealth accumulation by these legacy industries as they spend to try and hold on to the past?
