Saying sorry also doesn't devaluate from the good times and the life of that is going to be full of much joy.

It does acknowledge that there will be hard time and that that life will likely be shorter then it would have otherwise been.

Sorry doesn't mean throw your hands in the air and give up.

All it means is sorry. That sucks.
