Do you interact with visitors? I've always wanted to visit the Navajo reservation and take as many tours as I can, but I don't want to be rude and talk to people if they don't want to be talked to.

Also, and this might sound ignorant, would I be looked at funny since I have blonde hair and blue eyes? I'm not American, and whenever I go back to my own country, people do look at me funny (so I'm used to it).

Hello Mr. Tucker. Aspiring actress here, with a question I’ve had since I started acting. For every other profession, there’s a straightforward way of achieving it. You go to college, get a degree, go to grad school, apply for jobs, etc. But, for acting… it’s different. If you search up the most famous actors and actresses (especially the women), you get “child model”, or “parents were producers/directions”, or “grew up in LA”. Acting involves more than just acting. You have agents and managers and unions and all of these things that are just part of the business.

Because of this, I can never get noticed because I don’t know anyone and yet other actresses (which shall remain nameless) just “know the right people”. No one is willing to even audition me because no one knows who I am. Well, get an agent, right? You have to have a ridiculous resume to even get seen and how do you get experience without an agent? How many years of background work? Not to mention, even if you have that work , they want speaking roles, which, again, you can only get via an agent. Or luck.

Once you’re “in”, you’re in. Once people know who you are, then the real career begins. And ,well, that’s my dream. I’m not going to quit just because it’s hard. My question is, how can I get noticed, or at least an audition, when I don’t know any important people? Apologies if the question sounds more like me complaining. I live in Chicago, by the way.
