As a former radio DJ, I would say that you should only pursue it if you're interested in making what's essentially minimum wage, and working crappy hours.

The only way to move up in radio is to be willing to travel around the country, from gig to gig, like a nomad. After a decade of that, MAYBE you'll be relevant, but it's a big 'maybe'.
