At least one of the cockpits was locked on 9/11. Pilots opened the door to let the hijackers in after they killed a flight attendant and threatened to kill another. At the time standard procedure was to obey hijackers and assume they valued their own lives enough not to crash the plane.

Pretty much. Her parents really do love her but they are so conservative that they are completely disconnected with the world she lives in. Of course, she wants to please them but in the end she does things her way. So far it's worked out and I think our relationship with them is more honest, and maybe even stronger than it was when I met her.
