The F-16 has superior Thrust-to-Weight ratio, and so it can accelerate much more faster than an F/A-18. F/A-18 can do much higher high-alpha maneuvers, whereas the F-16 can do faster sustained turning.

What a comprehensive reply. The media is on such a witch hunt to gain clicks.

This post just made me purchase a Pulse. It’s cheaper than a glock, and I can carry it on me without applying for a CCW here in California. And yes, I do own several pistols that I wish I’ll never ever use against another person. Having an effective non-lethal option is very appealing to me as well, and doesn’t come with the messy aftermath (literally and legally) that comes with a defensive use of a firearm. For $350, that’s a bargain for a handheld “fire extinguisher.”. I hope I will never ever need it, but glad to have it (much like with my actual firearms too).

I’ve been on the fence about it, but your posts did it for me. I need a solid option out in public when confronted by someone who’s non-negotiable and intent on harming me and my family.

Thank you for your responses.

Still Marines. BF2, and BF3 had Marines. We don't have apache's and only the Marines have CAS with their own air wings of AH-1Z, UH-1N, F/A-18's and in the near future, the F-35B; all of which we've already seen in game (or in BF2/3). ;). Thanks for the thread!

I think this article from 2000 will shed some light: http://www.epi.org/publication/issuebriefs_ib137/

There was a major protest in 1999 in Seattle about this too: http://www.theatlantic.com/business/archive/2014/01/the-dark-side-of-globalization-why-seattles-1999-protesters-were-right/282831/

Hindsight is a bitch. Clinton thought it would be beneficial, but as we know now, there's nothing beneficial about it. Us Americans lost our manufacturing sector, and now China buys our debt. We have a major major unfair trade deficit against China now that's unrecoverable. They bought us out, and now have leverage in the region without fear of US saying anything to "anger" China. This is what will happen to Taiwan. They'll get bought pure and simple.

I'm surprised that President Ma, an American educated politician, did not learn from our mistake. It's as if he WANTS this to happen, and wants his homeland to be swallowed up by China. It's as if he's an actual puppet for the PRC.

As an American, I've been to Taiwan several times, and absolutely loved it there. It's so different from China. I don't even speak the language, and can instantly tell the difference between the varied ethnic groups in Taiwan; especially the mainland tourists.

I truly believe you guys to be a sovereign entity. It's an absolute shame that 23 million voices are ignored on a global scale due to an overbearing bully with archaic policies. That "one china" policy must be dissolved. At the same time, Taiwan's constitution must be rewritten; have that original claim map abolished, and remove the word "China." Ok, I know guys, this means war from the view of the PRC, which, in my opinion, is overly imperialistic and archaic.

Everyone in Taiwan are so interesting. People help out, they want to get to know me; overall everyone is supremely helpful and nice. Case in point? I've lost my iphone TWICE now, but both times, I got it back.

First time: It was an iphone3g when it first came out. I was out in Taiwan on a business trip, enjoying the heck out of your nation. my iphone fell out of my pants pocket inside a Taxi. I actually did not know when I lost it. The next day, I was strolling on the street on my way to a job site. All of a sudden, some dude runs out of a restaurant, and waves at me to come follow him. He leads me to his taxi and I tell him, "no haha, I don't need a Taxi, thanks.." He insisted!! He goes in, grabs something, and hands me my iphone. :O. What in the world? Well, a year later, someone stole that very iphone anyways back home in LA at Fry's Electronics goddamn it.. hahaha sheesh.

The next time I misplaced my phone happened just a month ago. I left my phone on the airport bus! goddamn it haha. Well well... an hour later, I swing by the airport bus area again just in the remote hope someone would've dropped it off somewhere, and boom.. one of the bus ushers comes to me and just hands me the phone. No questions. My jaw dropped. Wow. "meguanshi meguanshi!" He smiled and just walked away as I tried to profusely thank him.

Not only these, but there's several several instances where I'd make insta-buddies at bars and those cool Japanese style "100NT snack" bar restaurant things, or even on the awesome trains and bus systems you guys have. People just want to get to know you and be buddies over there.

I've traveled this planet, visited dozens of nations, but really.. based on my experiences, Taiwan is bar none, my absolute favorite place on this planet (ok my home is king haha, but that's because it's home). Next is NZ, and Chile comes 3rd :D.

I wish you guys much luck, but most of all, please don't change Taiwan. I hope your strength, culture, and people will stay the same through generations to come. Oil++!! Jia Yo!
