Steve's doctors did NOT tell him to do that, they wanted him to have surgery right away because it was caught very early on. Had he had the surgery then and there and maybe needed some chemo he'd be alive today. He thought he could eat a strict raw vegan diet and it would shrink the tumor and wasted many months trying that - obviously it didn't work.

As somebody who is interested in helping kids in this capacity where would you suggest I start? Is this something you have to have a degree for? Even as a volunteer position of watching kids? I'm not quite sure how to word it.

edit: totally just noticed the 5150 in your name, nice touch!

Are you offended by people trying to help you more than they would if you weren't paraplegic? Is there a proper protocol for these types of situations? Are you ever embarrassed to ask for help with something? I should probably know these things.

Subbed to your Subreddit, interesting topic for sure! Goodluck on your recovery.
