We get rubbish TV too, but the BBC still rules the roost when it comes to documentary making. I hope that survives the cuts.

It wasn't a 90-95% deal. I wish people would spreading this. Israel wouldn't give up control of aquifers and other vital infrastructure that made any state viable. There was no way any leadership could sign that deal. Clinton and Indyk only say that they walked away because both of them weren't willing to push for a proper deal.

It would be really helpful if you guys investigated the Think Tanks and their influence. Especially guys like Tax Payers Alliance , Henry Jackson Society.. etc. On all sides. It seems we get these "experts" on , who have agendas and yet as an audience who haven't a clue ( unless you're a complete politics geeks)

Hang on dude, you can't split the Muslim world like that historically. Doesn't work. The Ottoman conception of what role religion played was very different from the early Mughal, or the Safavid.

Also, you can't call the secular nationalism an aberration. Secularism and neo-islamism both occurred as a response to the western incursion and internal strife. Afghani and Abdu were writing well before the 1950s. Modernisation projects and the secular middle classes were appearing in the 1900s to the 1920s. You've got the Kemalists, you've got the Egyptian middle classes, you've got the Indian reform movement led by people like Sir Syed... people like Atta Turk and Pahlavi were already in situ well before the 1950s.

I do. I'm kind of nervous about outing my details so how much would you need?

I'm British Muslim and I wrote a book about the lives of British Muslim. It's not anything like the film "Four Lions" or in Mohsin Hameed's "Fundamentalist" territory.

I can tell you it was in the hands of A Big Agency at one point but the 2008 crisis nailed the project finance for risky projects. Risky because they thought the style was too unique - I'm not conceited enough to think that though so I was surprised. ( I suspect because it wasn't like the stuff from people like Monica Ali they didn't understand it)

It's at second draft stage, proof read and checked by Big Agency people. I just never pursued it because life intervened and my champion at Big Agency moved on.

I'd love to discuss more details in my inbox.. anymore and I'll end up outing my identity.

I do realize every author will tell you this, so will understand if you feel like taking a pass.

But it will be worth it.

Oh and thank you very much for taking the time to respond to my Q. :)
