The tax cuts and jobs act removed personal exemptions. That's why I hate the line that the standard deduction doubled... Sure it did, but personal exemptions that everyone could claim are gone.

Was it funded with public money? If so, why not offer it free to the public?

I went to public school after my private preschool taught me how to read. I HATED this parts of speech and diagramming sentences segments we would do. It made sense when I was taking German, but seemed pointless for English.
