In one of the livestreams he mentioned that would be the goal so you could download mods if attempting to join a server.

Word, I'm at the $45 and I don't see a big reason to go up any higher. As a guy that loves playing alphas and betas to help find bugs and game issues, I would love to find a way to squeeze into the Alpha.

Alright, so I know there hasn't been a lot of talk on the exacts of multiplayer yet. The most obvious question would be, could you divulge more into what you two are visioning for the multiplayer? On the forums people have been specuatling between controlling your own city per player / controlling your own city + all players share one resources / to all players work to build one giant city.

If you can't/don't want to answer any of this right now, that is perfectly fine, but I feel someone needs to ask :P

I would then like to go into my actual question I DO have about multiplayer (which again, you may ignore for now, but I would like to know later in development) In my eyes, I see the co-op working much like Minecraft. We toss up a private server, friends/players may connect to your server and they control their own area of the game, building their own settlement and we work together to face the challenges of the world. Now my question is, when I first read about the modding in this game and the thought of co-op. I instantly had the idea that I want to mod and create unique weapons/armors that only my Kingdom could craft/wield. But since the server is going to require all players have the same mod, would it be possible to limit weapons to one faction? I don't want the items to have different stats or anything broken, I just want my kingdom to have a unique look compared to others with things I personally created.

This is a pretty broad question, but since the KS video states the core focus of the game is crafting and building. What kind of things do you see in the crafting aspect of the game? Will there be a supply and demand type deal, like after so many items the blacksmith will require new tools / soldiers new weapons and armor?
