What Isaac items do you have little or no knowledge of? (Crystal Ball, Dead Dove, etc)

Are slot machines "tuned" differently according to a certain method? For example, the common notions that two "hot" machines are never next to each other, machines in dark corners are usually "cold" due to the lights and noises of them winning won't generally be seen, etc.?
