I am a male in the healthcare industry - long term care, specifically - and face pretty intense sexual harassment every time I step foot in a building.

I am contracted through a company, to provide clinical oversight and management of the residents, so I don’t actually work for the same company as the staff in the long term care facilities.

Typically I spend one day a week in each of the buildings I am responsible for managing (4 total).

There is one building I go to every Thursday, where the Director of Nursing - the boss of everyone in the building aside from myself, the therapists, and the home administrator - continuously harasses me for the entirety of my day in the building.

She has flashed me her breasts, bent over and spanked herself in front of me, closed office doors and said “I won’t tell anyone”, told me to drop my pants for a blow job... etc. pretty much every lewd thing you can think of, she’s asked for it from me.

There are a plethora of witnesses, and she has even said to me - once you get promoted, you’re gonna serve me some papers, huh?

I’ve recently been promoted, and one of my first actions was to place a female into that position.

So this is the first week in almost a year and a half I will not be forced to endure some kind of harassment.

Do I have any kind of case?

Thank you, in advance.

What realistic steps can a youth from a lower income area take to separate themselves as a viable candidate for jobs and opportunities normally reserved for the more privileged in our society?

I have mentioned it to my boss a couple times - but she is so focused on work to do, and I have a history of making oddly timed jokes that she never gets... but I keep making them. So she probably just figured I was joking around...

I have not filed any reports, because I’m sympathetic to the DON that is the main harasser. She has a shit job, with hardly any support, 4 kids, single, and can’t get a date because she’s married to her work.

Still, that doesn’t mean I should have to fend off advances during every single interaction we have.

Now that I’m in the first full week of not going into that building anymore, I want to see what the new girl says about the DON’s behavior..

Oh, I also forgot to mention that I witnessed this DON snort coke after a conference many of us from the area were attending. And after she did the blow, which she offered to me as well, she proceeded to whip out her phone and show me a video of her being eaten out by some guy she met on Tinder.

The only reason I was near her was because my buddy said he needed to talk to her about something and I was simply tagging along.

I asked if I have a case since it’s all in the past and so far, I have yet to act.

But literally every time I have mentioned it to a superior - all females - they have brushed it off as if I were joking.

Well as I stated in previous comments, I was just promoted, and placed a female in that building, so I no longer have to see this woman (the DON).

Everything I’ve ever said to someone in a higher role than myself has laughed it off like - “Oh, (DON’s name)... she’s crazy, isn’t she? But she takes great care of her residents.”

So it’s a struggle between reporting everything that has happened to me, versus throwing that entire building, and many of these really frail, old people’s lives into complete disarray.

Her not being in charge of that building, and the impending chaos of trying to cover everything she does, would most likely lead to the death of at least a few of the residents.

As obscene as she is with me, this woman really cares about the people she takes care of.

So that would be on my conscience as well...
