Cambodia beats Thailand by a bunch! My Tuk Tuk driver bought me a beer for the ride once : P

To be honest, I didn't venture off the beaten path. I only had 4 days there. One night in Phnom Penh, one night on a bus, two nights in Siem Reap. But the food is cheap, the beer is cheaper, and Me kong Whiskey was 50 cents at the excellent (with pool) Siem Reap Hostel!

My only advice is check out Angkor Wat at sunrise (and on a non-Buddhist holiday when the entire complex is open), the Killing Fields, and the Tuol Sleng museum. They're popular/crowded/beaten path, but for good reason.

Had I more time, I would have gone to visit a bee keeper's and spent more time in the markets/jungles learning about native edibles.
