Hi! Australian here, I had read that most Americans are fully supportive of the troops and even have bumper stickers that say so.

With this in mind, was it a surprise that you didn't get one offer after firing off 50 resumes or is it more reflective of the state of the economy?

Also, I'm happy that you made it back safe. With ANZAC day just passed, it's a reminder of all those that didn't.

Clay sounds right, I'm in the foothills and the soils is classed highly reactive. I'll go the aeration road for now. Would using a coring roller then sprinkling that granular wetting agent be a good idea or just wasting $$? Thanks for the help too :)

My soil is water repellant. I have dug copious amounts of well rotted manure - sheep & cow - through it to no avail. This past summer, I turned a portion of yard into a mud bath and then sat in the mud bath and rubbed the dirt between my fingers to get it wet.

That worked and now that section has green luscious grass on it surrounded by a brown wilting desert. Do you have any tips or an easier way to overcome water repellant soil?? THANKS!!

Does the Army / Gov cover the cost of re-training you or cover Uni costs?

Seems the Americans do - through the GI Bill. If we don't, that is kind of bullshit since we fight alongside the Americans and should get the same level of help when coming home.

The economy is only getting worse and I'm not looking forward to working till I'm 70.
