I'm not a host of a TV show... but you should check with your local game and parks department. They may run programs that are aimed at people just like yourself and your daughter. There also may be local groups which run programs like this they can point you towards. In my state there are great programs to get more youth involved in fishing run by the game and parks department, and also some great non-profit organizations that work alongside them to hold outings and clinics.

It's the same for the US data. It's really suspect until the mid 20th century. A station reported when someone had the time to take the measurements and write it down. That might be every day, or a couple days out of a week or once a week or a month. The data isn't quality checked until the 70's or 80's either, so you may see nearby locations which report significantly different temperatures for the same time period. The data I've used had some QC done on it, but prior to reports becoming automated its even pretty pointless to do that, because it's so inconsistent.

There's pretty good data going back 40 or 50 years for the US and Canadia... But it's no where near the quality of data that has been collected for the past decade or so. There are literally grids of reporting stations that cover north america today, which update very frequently and make it really easy to identify bad readings.

Is it really that cost prohibitive to build a device that works on all US networks like Motorola has been doing with the Nexus 6 and Moto X?

Seems like this should be a no-brainer today, it seems like it would be much more difficult to support two or more versions, from hardware to software to logistics.

Are you really worried about a not used search engine being forcibly manipulated? Looking at your results for random queries, you're objectively bad at it. Why not open source and let people help you? If privacy is your main goal, that would seem the best path. If you want to be the next google, well then... we've already got google, and it's great at what it does, even though it has its downsides in terms of privacy. Why not commit and let someone take up the flag if you falter? But if it's the illusion of privacy you want to promote, I understand. Really the only way to affect change is to beat the big guys in terms of technology, and I don't believe you can do it without a sustainable revenue model.
