What was Raju used for exactly? Begging or doing tricks or something? I ask this because I don't understand the culture and am curious as to why people would view owning a malnourished, abused and mistreated elephant as profitable. Do people actually give them money because of this?

How did you get into this line of work? How do your customers purchase medication without a prescription? Do you have a shadow doctor in India somewhere that just writes mass scripts?
