Thank you for the AMA, Kathy. Anytime I see work by photo-journalists in a war zone I can't help but think of how terrifying it would be in the middle of the chaos with nothing but a camera. Did Dan ever talk about how he was able to that and why he did it?

In 1979 did you have any idea that the Memorial would become as important to our country as it has? There are other war memorials, but the Vietnam Veterans Memorial seems to almost have a gravity of its own in how it affects people. Why do you think that is?
