The problem is everyone who has tried recently goes too over the top. The humor doesn't work if it isn't tempered by a 'straight man' or some kind of break in the beats. Instead they try to make every line a punch line and just hammer you over the head with it.

It baffles me that nobody with the talent, ability and/or pull to get a script through hasn't figured that out yet.

This is an AMA, not a job interview. It was a legit question, considering the context of this particular AMA. Doing 'due diligence' for any questions someone might have for the OP would defeat the purpose of this sub. It's 'Ask me anything' not 'Do your due diligence about anything'.
