The corruption of TOEFL and GRE in China is fucking ridiculous. An average Chinese grad student with an iBT of 98 can't string two words together, while someone with a 90 that took it in the States is nearly fluent. It's fucking absurd that departments just take it at face value and address it by raising the minimum required...

Vast majority of "research physicists " are in no way value creators. Most entrepreneurs aren't either. Good question, just bad examples.
