Is it true that CRNAs are just cheep replacements for MDs? Would you rather have an MD do your surgery?

It’s weird to think they could be equivalent. If you exclude the time working as a nurse (which is not education in the traditional since) CRNAs have <1/2 the training… not to mention the baseline motivation and intelligence than generally comes with acceptance to MD school (and not nursing degree). If I am dying on an OR table, would really hope there is an MD in the room.
