Are the differences between ciders in the US and UK a simple matter of climate and what apples we have access to, or more a product of American marketing and/or the clearing of orchards during prohibition?

No follow-ups on this response other than to thank you for the insightful reply and let you know that I'm excited to receive your book from Anxo tomorrow and hopefully get through a bunch of chapters before the tasting on Saturday night! Thanks for clearing up the prohibition misconception, which has unfortunately run so rampant in Philly that I really had no idea what the truth was.
