Do you think that this sort of thing is common in Hollywood? Why or why not?

This is purely anecdotal but I used to live in NYC and hung out/ bought heroin from a couple of gangs/crews around NYC and Brooklyn, in particular a BMW (Brooklyn's Most Wanted, sort of a loose crew of drug dealers) member.

I literally met him when I was picking up and he called me over to his car and told me he had seen me before and that he'd give me a better price, we ended up becoming friends, getting pizza together and I'd ride around sometimes with him smoking cigarettes while he essentially made deliveries. I think he saw that I was basically harmless but we ended connecting with music and a common morbid sense of humor.

He was by no means "big time" but he was to me, he was certainly slanging way bigger amounts than the people I was used to, and was basically more of a whole sale type person for the lower level corner kids and street dealers.

But anyway, he was one of the coolest people I knew, he didn't use any drugs at all and basically swore off of them, even though a lot of people in his circle used, but he tended to use them to test product. He kept a lot of distance between himself and even his own business partners.

He had a family (whom I never actually met) and generally just tried to keep his dealings as far away from his family as possible. He spoke very intelligently, and was generally a man of few words.

I was surprised because a lot of the drug dealers I knew tended to be somewhat immature, they were in it for the money and the clout and the girls and the reputation, it was a part of their identity and they had no problem going to the corner and fighting people off or just hanging out on the streets or in the subway waiting for customers. This man wouldn't be caught dead hanging out with those same kids he was supplying.

But yeah, he was quiet, but charismatic, it was purely just a job for him, I remember the most bizarre experience I had with him was meeting him in the basement of a bodega in Brooklyn, I was super paranoid and sketched out and asked him "aren't we going to get in trouble here?" and he just basically said "lmao they know what's going on homie"

Also, although he was a big guy (easily 6'2-6'4) he was the most nonviolent, non-"gangsta" person I knew, the few times where he was threatened or encountered violence he trusted in the people around him to take care of it (and they did) but also you have to remember that 90% of the rumors that go around drug dealing corners are just rumors, people talking shit, or completely petty drama that has nothing to do with anything going on there, and he realized that too. It wasn't a lifestyle for him like a lot of other drug dealers, it was just a job, and he treated it as such.

Yeah as someone who practices BDSM this whole thing kind of rubs me the wrong way, I don't agree with his politics, but it seems like he never abused this girl, she was aware the whole time that he had an SO, it was consensual, and she frames it as "I'm a dominatrix" in a sort of clickbaity "what a weirdo" sort of way when it seems like if anything, she was the sub in the relationship.

His politics are his politics, as misguided as they are, but it seems like his politics had absolutely nothing to do with this relationship.

At what point are you just airing out someones private sexual life?

This is literally the exact reason people with fetishes and kinks are afraid to tell their SO's because they don't want to be shamed or outed about them, and it seems like this is exactly what this girl is trying to do and I would hope and expect a dominatrix of all people would understand that.
