This is where the liberal (and I'm pretty liberal) argument falls apart with gun rights IMO. As a liberal gun owner I advocate for rights. Right for women to choose. Right for anyone to marry their partner. Right to bear arms. The right to do what I please in my home so long as it doesn't hurt anyone.

It seems like other liberals follow the same belief structure but are uneducated about gun rights and typically degrade and name call when the topic comes up. Thing's they usually criticize the right for doing.

Education and understanding is key in any situation that makes you uncomfortable.

I think knowing what to expect going into a situation where you take a drug for the first time is the biggest tool for anyone to have a positive experience.

I understand your point. I've heard it before. Cars kill more people but they are more useful (you say) so therefore they should be more acceptable in society. But lets look at America as a country that was founded on violence, hostile take over and then sustained again on violence. Guns have been a part of American history since almost the beginning. So much so that they are written into the constitution as an American right. Just as free speech, just as freedom of privacy. So the real problem is not guns but how to prevent bad people from getting them. Right? Because as a law abiding citizen I have the right to protect myself and my family and my things. And... I also have a right to be able to protect myself from oppressive governments. This is the most important message the founding fathers had for the future coming out of such an oppressive country. Keep the people armed so that the government can't take advantage of them again. This is an ideal that however one may think unlikely, is very possible and something the founding fathers experienced directly and wanted no group of people to experience again.
