How can I get REAL Chinese food without being offensive? I love a little traditional Chinese restaurant near me. Traditional Northern Chinese food (I've been told). I found it through a Taiwanese friend who was visiting me for a year. When I went with her, the food was AMAZING! Hands down The Best Chinese food I've ever eaten. She's now gone back home to Taiwan. The last time I went with my family, I feel like they gave us completely different food: Americanized (or Canadianized in my case) versions of what we ordered. Example: crispy sesame beef - the sauce wasn't the same. It was ketchup-y. It happened again the next time I went. The only difference is that my Chinese, Mandarin speaking friend isn't with me. So, how do I let them know that I want the real stuff? I don't want to order a pork bun or those black noodles (not actually noodles, but fern roots) and get some weird American version.

Is female circumcision still practiced? What is the reasoning for it? Do males get circumcised too? If this subject is too much to talk about, that's ok. Love your channel! So interesting!

I'm sorry this happened. I did the same thing on the way to see my dad (but I'm a woman). It's a lost, lonely, terrible feeling, where nothing that isn't in the immediate future of your loved one matters anymore. I'd like to think, that of I'd seen you, alone and crying on the bus, I might have grabbed your hand. Or at least, a pat on the shoulder. Because I understand. And sometimes, you just need to have a cry. I'm glad things turned out well for your mom. My dad is now cancer free as well. (However, I did lose 4 to cancer in the last year; one friend, 2 aunts, and one uncle. Plus another uncle/my Godfather in and out of the hospital with heart issues.)

Lemon Parade was my life the year it came out. I love it. Thank you.

Well, quilting is a pretty nifty skill that not everyone has, especially if you learned hand sewing techniques. My Granny (my mother's mother) quilted but as far as I know, she really only passed her knowledge of it on to one daughter (out of 11 kids). Now both of them have passed away, and their quilts are cherished family keepsakes. (My mother's family wasn't anything other than Catholic on a small farm in rural New Brunswick, Canada.)
