I don't think he'd be able to cook, he'd be nerding out so hard.

and by he, I mean I.

Seriously though /u/OliverBabish, this would be awesome.

There's always the Charlie Sheen Ice Bucket challenge, no one is saying you don't have to be as baller as him, but it's an option. :)

Probably? Definitely. This is war we're talking about here, and even with all the smart-weapons in the world you're still going to have civilian casualties, which is why the RoE are there in the first place, to attempt to curtail that as much as possible. Take that away and sure, the effect to the Taliban and Taliban-related forces would be devastating for a while, until the ones that are operating in Afghanistan retreat to Pakistan/Waziristan, where they will regroup, recruit, and when the US leaves or tones down the fighting, cross back over and resume operations.

From a geo-political point of view, it really is a no-win unless you're willing to go all-in, follow the enemy force into Pakistan, and engage on their soil. We're not, so at this point, it's better to do the best hand-off we can, and get out of there.

LeVar, I just wanted to tell you thanks for showing us that engineering and STEM can be cool and rewarding things to dedicate one's life to. I grew up watching Reading Rainbow and TNG, and from watching your performance as Geordi, I knew that I wanted to be in a technical role, to play and tinker and break stuff and fix it again. I was fortunate that my parents fostered this and helped me, but I was thinking back as I donated to the RR Kickstarter, and I really think that it all started with you on TNG. From that simple beginning, my love of technology and creating things really blossomed out to my current career as a network engineer, and I think I owe you more than I can pay for this. I really hope that the future version of Reading Rainbow can bring a similar spark to the children of today, and I can't think of anyone better to be the face of it than you.

From the bottom of my heart, thanks. And since I seem to have to ask you something, what was Wil Wheaton like on the show?

Can you speak to the process of becoming a ref for a adult league? I play on one in Columbus, and most of the refs are somewhere between shitty and god-awful, with some notable exceptions. I figured if I wanted to change the system to do it from within. :)

Thanks for the AMA!
