As someone whose only option is adoption I appreciate the honesty. At 27 I still feel I am not ready but I want to know all I can about the process so I can make an informed decision down the road.

That's actually my situation too. My husband and I both have severe genetic disorders and would only have a 25% chance of having an unaffected child.
