Adding to what a previous commenter correctly identified - hematomas and seromas, which are risks in any surgery that creates space that can be filled with fluids - other risks of any surgical procedure would be infection, opening of the surgical site, abnormal scaring, and pain/tightness at the surgical site.

Specific to top surgery there are theoretical risks to some of the arteries and nerves of the chest wall, which could lead to extra bleeding during the operation, and numbness to different areas respectively. There is always the risk of undesired or suboptimal aesthetic outcomes such as nipple height discrepancy in any surgery that alters appearance. Finally there is a small risk of nipple necrosis with any surgery that involves chest tissue alteration - whether that surgery is gender affirming or purely cosmetic. These risks can all be mitigated by surgical experience, and are discussed as part of the informed consent process prior to anyone pursuing any sort of surgery.

Small disclaimer: I do some work in gender affirming care as part of my specialty, but I am not a surgeon. This info on complications are based on my prior experiences during medical training and understanding through my work with gender diverse patients, but I am by no means an expert.

Hi there Dr. Nassar, fellow physician/video game enthusiast here! First off just want to shout out how awesome it is to see someone melding their two passions, and using video games to try to benefit patients. Also big ups on loving God of War; that's probably my go to game in recent memory to convince people that games are an art form just as much as cinema or anything else.

As for a question, I was wondering if there were any games you've played that you have drawn inspiration from for your own game development, and also what your take on some games that have come out recently to some critical acclaim that explore mental health and inner journeys, such as Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice or What Remains of Edith Finch?
