Wow, prices in North America are insane.

Yeh, except that those situations wouldn't happen if there wasn't an illegal market to sell drugs. And the only way to avoid that is to regulate and legalize. And there's plenty of research proving that "legalizing/decriminalizinf some drugs = people are encouraged to do drugs" is a factitious lie promoted by conservative forces. Just look at Portugal for christ's sake. Also although I'm glad you avoided jail time, I don't know how much you'd wish people to end up in jail for selling drugs if that happened to you and you'd actually experienced life in jail. In the eyes of the law there is NO difference between you dealing 5 tabs to your friends and those sketchy dealers you don't like selling 5 tabs to random people. The only difference here is that you got fucking lucky, so you shouldn't wish someone else's misfortune based on the fact that they "creep around nightclubs".

Context, please. What you say is agreeable with, but there are other things to consider to make a point in this case. This Moore guy openly said his website was created to be evil, he himself encouraged threats, insults and whatnot towards these girls. So, sure. If my brother gets run over by a drunk guy, I will sue the drunk guy. But I could very easily sue the guy who sold him alcohol at a gas station and consciously let him drive away after watching him getting wasted. And I could sue the people who built an unsafe road where my cousin crashed and died if I heard them saying that they knew they were doing a terrible job and didn't care about people's safety. Everything beyond that (who "made the liquor", "maintained the car", etc) is just quite silly conjecture and you know it. We can't expect the owner of a website to personally check every single submitted content, but are you really telling me that a website created to post graphic images and personal data of people who do not agree on having those things uploaded online cannot be considered responsible in creating enormous suffering? Also the point you make about common sense when it comes to sharing personal content sounds a bit off to me. The article states how her daughter sent a lot of pictures to her own email address and her own email address only to save them on a hard drive. She wasn't "trasmitting that photograph electronically to one or more persons". But beyond this, the linked article also explains quite clearly how a big percentage of the victims didn't even take graphic pictures themselves, they just found their face photoshopped on a naked body and their real life details written beneath the picture. And even so, maybe we should push towards better privacy and safety policies rather than considering "common sense" having the keep every personal detail off the web fearing to be hacked.

This got me really curious, did you ever get the chance to talk to those visitors? Did you get to know what were their reasons to drop their lives and travel to such places? Also what is the general feeling in the village towards visitors arriving there on this kind of journey?

As someone who just graduated with a dissertation on the merging of Western music and Hindustani music, much of my work was inspired by the late Ravi Shankar and his relationship with George Harrison. My question would be: do you remember how the audience reacted to Ravi Shankar's music, being it so different from many of the acts who played at Woodstock '69, but also so close to the music spirit of the era? Also whose idea was it to ask him to perform?
