Are you concerned about the stability of the house, being made of waffles and all?

This is a pretty myopic and frankly childish response. The positive use cases are everywhere, you just apparently aren't looking or can't see the forest from the trees. Medical advancements, self driving cars, crime reduction, agricultural advancements, entertainment production, on and on and on.

You're response is emotional, not logical. You're bemoaning a police state while bemoaning police not "shooting a prick" who's done nothing illegal yet. Thought crimes do not exist. The data had a person in radar. Sometimes it's enough to catch them before an act is completed, sometimes it's not. There are over 7 BILLION people in the world, this problem is not easy.

yea it's absurd. To paint a data scientist as evil...it's the kind of thing I'd expect to see a backwoods hillbilly yell in a poorly written sci-fi dystopia movie.
