How was working with David Lynch?

I like to imagine that he insists on doing them both at once. Like a handshake with right hand and then a crossover high five with the left.

I bet his hair is even more incredible in person. Did he have any unorthodox methods of directing the actors? I've always liked to imagine he didn't let any actors know about the man behind the dumpster or the corpse before shooting those scenes.
