Totally agree. When I got my last one (certified pre-owned) the setting had been changed to unlock when put in park. I promptly changed it.

Not sure about the coding, but I had to look up how to change it through the on board computer stuff, but was able to do it myself. Guess maybe they didn't restore that before I got it. Love my car!

Cool project. In Austin, The Labybird Johnson Wildflower Center offers clones and/or seedlings from the Treaty Oak) every year. Are you able to offer clones of any of your historic trees? EDIT: Sorry, my link is wonky cause of the parenthesis.

BMWs (and I am sure many other vehicles) can be programmed to do different things with the locks. You can, for example, program them to unlock all doors when put into park. I think by default though, they come programmed to lock all doors once you hit a certain speed while driving and then stay locked when put into park.
