Just wanted to give you a high 5 for the positive attitude. Stg4 survivor myself so I know both how hard that can be to maintain but also how unbelievably important it is to keep doing. Fight on and keep smiling!

What do you do to stay positively motivated? Background: I have Stg 4 throat cancer so I empathize with you. The worst part is the roller coaster ride you can't leave. Up-down-up-down..it's exhausting. You gotta keep your spirits up though. It doesn't do any good to wallow in self-pity (I would know). In the worst of the initial chemo/rad treatment when I was at my sickest I was in the bathroom floor curled up and just wanting to die so it would all stop. I was SO sick from everything and the pain was just crazy bad. My wife, bless her heart, came into the bathroom and made me stand up. She told me stone seriously: "You want to die, that's between you and God. While you are here though, you are still a man and men don't act like that." It was the best tough love I've ever gotten and it snapped me from my self-pity cycle. I've never looked back and I make it a point to stay motivated now to improve wherever I have the power to do that. Each day it becomes more clear to me how important this step is to facing such an enemy as cancer.
