I can't understand why the UO model wasn't adopted as the go-to. Why EQ clones? EQ was too rigid. Sandboxes are always the best things to play in.

I love traditional animation, and am an animator by trade though I use Maya to model/rig/animate. I've never tried flash animation, it's always been one of those things on my to-do list.
My question is are 3d animators something your new empire is interested in?

Oh man. I was a HUGE scammer and all-around jackass. 13 year old me would tame mounts, name them 'an ethereal [mountname]", and hide them. People would trade me their 175k, I'd trade them the mount, and then I'd recall to my house to store my ill-gotten gains.
For the PKing, that started much earlier. My mom got into the original beta, and so I played it. When it came out, we'd both had so much fun that it was a no-brainer. So from 97 to 2002, the formative years of my life, I was totally addicted to UO.
I remember the first time I encountered a PK. I was outside of Minoc, I had been wandering around picking up crap off the ground and working on my animal taming. I had this horse that I had since launch day, this was a few months after. I had named it after my cat who had recently passed away. This red guy comes out of no where, kills me with a crossbow, and then proceed to slaughter my train of animals until finally turning on my horse. I watched helplessly as my deceased cat's namesake was slaughtered right in front of me. AND THEN HE SKINNED IT. I lost it, full-on hysterical sobbing.
I was terrified to leave town for months after that, but then one day I realized that my next door neighbours (two brothers who I played with all the time) had also gotten UO, and they started to play with me. We three young children were a roving band of terror in no time. We bought a house together, and then I would go into town (generally Britain or Vesper, they were the hot spots on my shard) and offer people gates to wherever they wanted to go. Except they were going to my house where they were boxed in by stacked up furniture and killed by my friends.
We got so much stuff, nice stuff too.
Once factions went in, I went all-in for that. I was Shadowlords on my real shard, but the Test Center? Always Minax. I met some lifelong friends through the crazy ass PVP on the TCs. I reveled in it, got pretty damn good at dueling because of all the time I spent at Jhelom Farms with my friends. Which caused a lot of drama, no one liked to be told they just got their asses handed to them by a 13 year old girl.
Every MMO I have played since then, the PVP just doesn't live up to my expectations. UO PVP was perfect. True free-for-all, true equality. I miss the hell out of it. I'm 27 now, and I still keep in touch with most of my PVP crew from back then.
